Tamu is a beautiful, strong-willed, and warm-hearted lioness. Originating from a different pride, Tamu had been given many suitors to be her husband, but she rejected every single one of them, due to them not being right for her in her own opinion. However, one day, a large, brutish rogue lion came along, killed her father, and took over the pride, causing Tamu, her best friend Amefungwa accompanied by her brother, to run away in search of a better home.
When she meets Mlinzi, the next-in-line king of Pride Rock, Tamu began to exhibit feelings for him, but they were both very shy at trying to confess, which lead to comically embarrassing moments most of the time. However, after one last stand against the rogue, and Scar's ghost, they finally confess their love for one another, and end up the new king and queen of Pride Rock.
