A Long Shot

Episode 1.12

PREVIOUSLY ON APOCALYPSE OF KAIJU...

After Godzilla's rampage, Allison has broken down into heartbreak when she hears that Officer Richard has ordered to kill him. Then, she receives a visit from two old friends of hers: the Shobijin, as they tell her that "the time has come" as she is given a mysterious object.

Soon after, Allison gets the courage to confront the soldiers herself in an effort to save the man she cares for. She then reveals herself to have been a Kaiju-Shifter herself all along, in the form of a lepidopteran type goddess named 'Mothra', as she saves Tyler just in time.

AND NOW...

*cue intro*

AFTER INTRO.

A 40 meter class Hoarder screams out as it lunges, but is easily taken down by Godzilla as he rips its head clean off before incinerating it with his atomic breath, as the soldiers hurry as fast as they can to the wall. Maxwell and Melissa get cornered by a 20 meter class Hoarder, but Nathan save them when he shoots a signalling bullet into its mouth, as it meets its fate to the Bait-Bomb. Seeing Godzilla handle the Hoarders easily, Allison then calls the others to a safe location for them to get to while the mission goes on.

Inside the shelter, the gang soon meets up with Simon and Stanley, who were already waiting for them there. As the others take a brief moment to catch their breath, Allison soon falls a little quiet as she sits down. Erik and Stanley take notice as they ask what's wrong, but she simply answers that she's fine and that it's nothing. The boys feel slightly suspicious, but they know not to push on any further as they get to the planning desk, where Simon begins discussing the new plan on getting the Hoarders away from Godzilla while he seals the hole.

Outside, two 20 meter class Hoarders are tossed at the wall as Godzilla crouches on all fours when he approaches them. The two Kaiju squirm to get away, but are too late as the reptilian behemoth lunges at them and rips them to shreds, devouring them alive. While Godzilla continues fighting off more Hoarders, the construction team immediately goes into hyper-drive as they race to get the titanium blocks ready for the melting process. However, things begin to prove difficult when three 50 meter class Hoarders, all Abnormals, spot the construction team, and proceed to attack.

During the attack, the Hoarders reveal a deadly secret weapon: they all emit a kind of toxic "gas" that's sickly green in color onto most of the humans. This "gas" is actually acidic smoke, as it is seen literally devouring most of the humans from the outside in. Having seen their true capabilities, Stanley and Eric begin suggesting to avoid getting too close to the Hoarders when they see them about to shoot their smoke-breath, and everyone agrees on that. It was then Allison realizes that if the Hoarders cut open Godzilla's chest, then Tyler is in danger of getting dissolved from the smoke as well. This dread prompts Allison to immediately grab her gears and head out to help him, much to the protests of the others.

Godzilla roars loudly as he continues his attack on the Hoarders, then spots the Abnormals nearby, causing him to charge head-on. However, the Hoarders outnumber him 3-1 as they proceed to overpower him. Unfortunately for them, it is the Hoarders and not Godzilla that are fatally exposed. They do not see it coming, but out of nowhere, Allison had come charging in at lightning speed, cutting huge gashes into their bodies to make room for her to implode them from the inside. Godzilla shoots his atomic breath into the central one, cooking it instantly as it dies, while Allison taps into her goddess powers and, in the blink of an eye, uses some kind of beam-attack from her hands to finish off the other two. With the Abnormals dead, the two realize that most of the construction team are also dead, leaving the mission in ever greater danger of failure.

To make matters worse, a stray missile meant for a Hoarder accidentally flies right into Godzilla's face, causing him to stumble and lose focus as a 30 meter class Hoarder jumps onto him and bites his neck. Infuriated, the reptilian Kaiju rolls onto his back, and used his dorsal spines to impale the Hoarder, killing it. But the impact from the missile still bothers his eyesight as he tried to rub away the debris. Seeing this, Allison acts quickly and used a wind-hand swipe to clear away the debris as Godzilla regains his vision. Thanking Allison for all the help, the Kaiju then turns to the titanium pile, knowing he has to finish the job himself as he slowly approaches.

Knowing what must be done, Allison then gives the rest of the gang the signal to help keep any remaining Hoarders away from Godzilla in order for the mission to succeed. A little reluctant at first, the gang then accept her statement as they head out, while Simon stays in the shelter to keep track of their movements. As the gang manage to fend off the remaining Hoarders, Godzilla continues making his way to the hole where the titanium awaits him. The Hoarders attack relentlessly, but are not smart enough to outdo the humans as they dodge and blast them, some of them getting blown up when they get a mouthful of Bait-Bombs. One Hoarder tries to jump Godzilla from behind, only to get smacked away by his massive tail as it starts glowing blue.

The blue glow runs up his spines to the top of his head as Godzilla prepares one huge atomic breath. Letting out a roar right before firing, Godzilla utters his most powerful atomic breath yet. So powerful, it successfully manages to melt the titanium around the hole. As he finishes, the titanium cools off, sealing off the hole that once brought many Hoarders into Brooklyn. Allison strikes down the last remaining Hoarder as she sees Godzilla roaring in victory as she smiles with a small tear dripping from her eye.

Moments later, though, the Kaiju collapses onto the ground, having exhausted its energy reserves; and once again, his chest splits open as the cocoon containing Tyler rolls out of it again. Only this time, Tyler's still active, albeit drowsy, as he barely rips away his fleshy wrapping. Allison immediately rushes to him and hugs tightly, grateful that he and the rest of the gang made it through. But more importantly, the mission was officially deemed a success. More than that, it was the first time humanity has truly beaten the Kaiju, yet many more battles await them.

Tyler and Allison get up to rejoin the others, but they then run into a new problem at their hands. It turns out due to the damage they caused earlier, they are put under trial until they're proven either guilty or not. Tyler becomes so miffed to the point of even saying...

"Welp... we're definitely f***ed like squished brains..."

NEXT TIME ON APOCALYPSE OF KAIJU...

Tyler and Allison end up underground in different cellars to keep them from causing any trouble, despite the protests of their friends, and they have no intention of causing mayhem.

However, during their time underground, a strange occurrence begins happening to Allison. What exactly is running in her mind? Find out next time.
